Alerts and push
Resend doesn’t send push. re: creates a webhook on your account and a relay turns each event into a notification.
Events
| Event | In the app | When it fires |
|---|---|---|
email.bounced | Bounce | The recipient’s server permanently rejected the email. |
email.complained | Marked as spam | The recipient marked the email as spam. |
email.failed | Send failed | Resend couldn’t send the email. |
inbox.email.received | Email received | A message arrived in an inbox (Inboxes, beta). |
domain.updated | Domain changed | A domain’s status changed, for example from pending to verified. |
Turn each one on or off in More › Alerts. This is free.
How it works
The app creates the webhook
Using your token, the app creates a webhook on your Resend account with a URL unique to your team at
https://relay.tryre.dev/hook/…. It sends the relay only the webhook ID and its signing secret.Resend calls the relay
Every event arrives signed. The relay checks the
svix-id,svix-timestampandsvix-signatureheaders against the signing secret, stores the event and answers 200.Rules run in a queue
Off the webhook’s path, the relay applies your rules: enabled events, bounce limit, do not disturb and grouping. If sending fails, the event stays stored and is retried.
The push goes out
The relay writes the text in the device’s language and delivers it through Expo Push, which uses APNs (Apple) and FCM (Google).
What the relay stores
- The device push token and language.
- Team and webhook IDs, and the signing secret.
- Alert preferences (events, limit, do not disturb, time zone) and counters for the rules.
It never stores your Resend token or email content. An event is kept only until its push goes out. The push carries the minimum needed to be useful.
Advanced rules (Pro)
- Bounce limit. Alerts when the last hour’s bounce rate goes over the value you pick, with at least 20 sends in the window.
- Do not disturb. Silences by time and weekday. Events from that period become a summary at a set time. Bounces over the limit can break through, and email from VIP addresses alerts right away.
- Grouping. Several similar events become one notification.
On the free plan, rules stay saved and paused. Event alerts keep working.
Alerts disconnected
If re:’s webhook is deleted from your account (in the dashboard or through the API), no push arrives. The app detects it and shows Alerts disconnected. Tap Reconnect: the app creates a new webhook, with a new signing secret, and sends it to the relay.
Remove everything
- Turn off on this device (in More › Alerts): re:’s webhook leaves your account and the push stops.
- Erase my relay data: removes re:’s webhooks from this team and deletes everything the relay has for this device. It’s immediate.
- From the dashboard: delete the webhook pointing to
relay.tryre.dev.
