Widgets and Live Activity
Account metrics on your home and lock screens. A re: Pro feature.
What they show
Widgets show the active team’s metrics for the day, such as sent today and bounce rate, with the time of the last update. The Live Activity and Dynamic Island follow an ongoing event on the lock screen.
Below a certain size, the widget uses only the brand’s “:” instead of the logo.
How data gets there
The widget never talks to the Resend API and never refreshes the OAuth token. The refresh token rotates on every use, and two renewals in parallel can make Resend revoke the whole authorization.
So the flow is one-way:
- The app, while open, writes a summary of the metrics to a space shared with the widget (an App Group on iOS).
- The widget only reads that summary, including the language picked in the app.
If a widget looks stale, open the app. That writes a fresh summary.
